Matt has a broad range of civil tort and commercial litigation experience, particularly in the following areas:
- Landlord/Tenant
- Product Liability
- Premises Liability
- Creditors' Rights
Matt assists commercial landlords in the work out of lease disputes and, if necessary, the filing of lawsuits against breaching tenants. He strives to salvage relationships that can be salvaged, but where that is not possible, is equipped to use the litigation process to quickly terminate the breaching tenant’s possession and maximize his clients’ potential recovery. Matt strives to provide this service in a timely, cost-effective and practical manner.
Matt also assists property owners with real estate tax appeals, relating to both challenged assed values and the denial of statutory exemptions to the payment of such taxes.
Matt has also successfully defended several commercial clients in various product and premises liability cases. Representative product liability cases have involved claims related to asbestos, manufacturing equipment and different types of consumer goods. Matt has represented commercial retail clients in multiple premises liability lawsuits initiated by business patrons.
