Ron has practiced law since 1971 primarily in commercial/business law, commercial lender financing law, and wealth-transfer planning/probate law. These areas are interrelated and often overlap in his client representation.
His commercial/business practice has included transactions involving:

- Succession planning
- Business operations (e.g., leasing, employment, financing, taxation, contract and real estate matters)
- Sale and acquisition of assets
- Entity ownership interests and related owner agreements
His experience in wealth transfer planning includes:
- Federal gift tax and estate tax analysis and planning
- Preparation of various estate planning documents
- Advice, counsel and document preparation with respect to life insurance matters and charitable giving/bequest matters
- Advice and counsel with respect to probate and estate administration matters, including serving as counsel for personal representatives and preparation of federal and Indiana death-tax returns
- Advice and counsel to grantors and trustees with respect to trust administration matters
Ron has represented national banks and other commercial lenders with respect to the making/establishment of term loan and line-of-credit facilities involving (primarily) borrowers' working capital needs, equipment/asset acquisitions, and business acquisitions and expansions.
